There are certain rules that need to be adhered to when it comes to writing emails. Important is that you use the appropriate level of formality for a certain message. Another thing to adhere to is that you should not drivel, state the purpose of your email clearly and leave out any unnecessary information. Always check your message for spelling mistakes, correct use of punctuation and grammar. Also, remember that you are using a computer, not talking to one. Therefore, you should say hello at the start of your message and goodbye at the end. Be sensitive when composing an email; remember that the person you email may not share your values, cultural background or opinions. Also, try to reply to an email within the same time as you would return a phone call. Finally, never email an advert to someone unless you are good friends. Please not that, before sending an email with jokes, you should ask yourself if the recipient will be pleased to receive it.
